My name is Spencer Putnam and I’m a web developer based in Omaha, NE. I’m passionate about building great things and working with people who do the same.

I specialize in front-end technologies and custom WordPress development.

You can follow me on Twitter, see some coding examples on CodePen and GitHub, and check out professional background on LinkedIn. Feel free to read more below for technical stuff about my setup and workflow.

Development

My goal when building for the web is to meet the highest standards of performance, functionality, design and user experience. Mobile-first, responsive development following modern best practices is what I’m most interested in and passionate about as a developer.

I always aim to follow (and code using) the DRY principle.

Currently working on: Laravel. I’m using Homestead as my local development environment along with a lot of other super helpful tools and utilities like Bootstrap, Composer, Gulp and NPM. Also, shout out to the crew(s) responsible for Laracasts and the Laravel Podcast for creating great products and fostering awesome communities.

Also learning more about: Node.js-land and more specifically, the MEAN stack. I went to the first Nodeschool Omaha meetup in Jan/’16 and really enjoyed it, further piqued my interest in all things Node.

I’m familiar with and interested in: Atomic design, BEM methodology, modular design, design/content patterns
